Having signed up a few people to QFF through the Everyday rewards scheme I've noted there's a few targeted promotions to get people using the program. There has been a double points promotion running for a member's first flight. A friend got this after claiming a flight they flew before the promotion began.

The newest one appears to be targeting dining:

Dine out at any of our partner restaurants between 1 June 2009 and 31 October 2009 and you can earn 5 points for every dollar you spend instead of the usual 3 points per dollar*.

We've had a pretty good success rate with restaurants on the QF list. It is a pity that they didn't extend this promo rate to all members as an introductory special.

Last time I had a friend use their FF card to give them a few extra points after a meal, looks like they'll be getting even more. Might be an idea to credit restaurants to a new member for the next few weeks. 8 pts/$ inc. CC isn't too shabby - time for a party.

Interesting.

This fits almost exactly with what I was told by the manager of an FF restaurant a couple of months ago except he didn't mention anything about it applying only to new FFs.

Sadly, we weren't the beneficiaries of this promo, as we only got the standard 3 points for each credited dinner.
