Welcome Clark Kent

There is a whole stack of information on this site and you should/could spend hours on reading through them. However if there is anything specific, feel free to ask and I'm sure someone will point you into the right direction ;)

Welcome!

As mentioned there is a wealth of information already on the site - read some old threads and use the search facility to find specific topics.
I, like others have learned so much from the expertise that others share on the site. I try to check the site most days as this helps keep up todate with new information and threads being posted.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Cheers for the welcome folks :)

In regards to earning points, which credit card for everyday use will be best to link the QFF with. At the moment, I using the ANZ QAN Visa card. Does anyone use this card? Has it been effective?

Have a look through each different forum, or which ever look sinteresting to you and at the top of each forums are "sticky" posts which contain important information regarding each forum/sub section.

Good place to start anyway.

Just a quick question; yes or no type answer really....

Is there a timeframe on which the QFF points accumulated expire? Or is it a rolling balance and you can accumulate year after year?

QFF Points expire after 3 years. Any activity, like points transferred from credit card or purchasing 1,000 QFF points, extends the life of the QFF points another 3 years.

Welcome to AFF: the place has got really interesting in the last 2 years: maybe there have been enough members who pass on lots of information and I guess the size of the community that there is always something new to report.

Points don't expire as long as you use them once every 3 years but this group probably would not go 3 months without getting on a plane.

The SCs(Status Credits) on Qantas do reset to 0 once a year; when depending on your calendar year so that is something to be aware of if you are close to Silver/Gold or Platinum on Qantas Frequent Flyer.

I would suggest that you add some details about yourself as you don't say where you are based and what level Qantas or Virgin Blue frequent flier you are.
