Just watched the new Qantas ads on TV where a young FA tells us how dedicated Qantas is to Australia and its history. Where does the hypocrisy of the QF board end? A very transparent and disingenuous snowjob. I suspect with the share price closing at $5.66 on Friday the whole board must offer their resignation, not just Jackson and Packer. Of course they have no choice but to keep Dixon.

It is quite unbelievabable that the directors, especially Jackson should stay on until the AGM, but the audacity of "these people" never ceases to astound.

I have always felt QF was under valued by the market until now, the take over bid raised the profile of the company and got peoples attention that airlines could still be good investments post 911.

Having said that i always prefered it was not privatised and money just pulled out of it and it ends up with a huge debt. Servicing debt costs money and QF so far have done a good job at growing an airline without massive debt so i would be inclined to let the continue as they have.

Anyway its all done now so nothing anybody can do.

Slightly OT: I saw Jestar Ads all over Japan (Tokyo and Osaka).

They have a picture of something australian (eg gold coast beach, opera house, harbour bridge etc...)

Then at the bottom - JETSTAR: A Qantas Group Airline (in BOLD).

I felt this was misleading as it was implying that Jetstar is the same as Qantas. Any thoughts??

Jetstar actually released a media statement regarding this about six months ago. Because the Japanese preffered airline to AUS was always Qantas, it was determined that marketing it as a Qantas affiliated airline, would attract interest. Particularly with Australian being a flop, it is a bit misleading.

Why is it a problem, Jetstar is a member of the Qantas group is it not ?
You can book it via JAL as well.
