Just been emailed to complete a lengthy survey for the QF advisory panel that is expected to take 30-45 mins to complete.

The kicker is the 2000 points credit forcompketing the survey.

Given I only earn 1000 points for a 60 mins flight home to SYD I reckon this is good value. I will do it on the train in the morning which is dead time anyway...

Any other recipients?

Not Me. I had cause to interact with some QFF folk about the Advisory Panel recently. Turns out that members are still specifically targeted it's not a panel-wide thing.

Kinda annoying. I've been a member for 6 months and not had a single survey (and their website is out of date, which has also been bought to their attention and acknowledged).

If they have a panel which is meant to be already targeted, they should supply the goodies to everyone ;)

I got it...took me more than 40 mins to complete:shock:. Looks like some of the ideas about QF's FF program that have been discussed in the Red Roo thread have appeared!

aww man, I want in on this. Both so that I can have a say, and for the free points :)

I did not get it but would love to provide some feedback.

My guess I have been excluded due to the number of complaints I keep sending to QF. Why do I get the feeling that QF will only send the survey to someone who is likely to provide positive feedback. ;)

What makes you think I always give +ve feedback to QF?;) Actually, the survey mainly wanted to know what QF could do for you to fly more with them both domestically and internationally? in partic., what changes to the FF program would make you fly more with them...I agree with others that there was not much about lounges....

But you are probably nice about it. ;) I can't imagine anyone would give as much negative feedback as I have given QF in the last few years. ;) :p

Again I would imagine I would not be the ideal candidate as I don't think I could possibly fly anymore with any carrier let alone QF.

But 2,000 QFF points sounds like good reward for 40 minutes of my time....

I didn't get the survey, but I'm not going to get worked up about it.

A 40 minute survey means that it will take time to read/digest answers to the questions. Which means QANTAS probably doesn't need 10,000 people to fill in surveys. They need a couple of hundred at most. And the probably outsource it to an external company to do, and the cost would be per response. Spending a few hundred thousand to survey many more people than would be necessary would just be unnecessary.

If they are that bad - why are you still flying them? There must surely be a tipping point somewhere.

I personally give frequent negative feedback in these surveys. I look on this as an opportunity to shape QF rather than give them a pat on the back.

OK now doing the survey so I will post a few Of the questions and my answers. First the first hird of the survey was mostly about travel patterns - not bothering to share that here.

Now onto the questions about preferences. These so far are "pick a most preferred and least preferred from a selection of five"

First q was about alternatives including 2 points/$ spent on JQ (least preferred) and 1 annual complimentary int'l upgrade (most preferred)

Q2 earn on JQ SCs at same rate as QF (least preferred) and 150% bonus SCs on int'l flights (most). Other choices include 125% bonus for being plat and limo transfers (most flights are company funded so that is no interest to me)

Q3 earn JQ SCs at same rate as QF (least - seeing a theme?) Complimentary upgrade annually (most)

Interesting section about Trading off various benefits. Most interesting is the "cost" in terms of status bonus. You have 12 tokens to allocate and maintaining the status bonus costs 5 tokens whereas 100% bonus flying in J costs 2 tokens- some interesting revelations about priorities there...

EDIT

Over an hour and still going strong...

EDIT

And just informed that I am over half way through...

Qantas is not that bad. It is just that I have been having a poor run flying with them in the last few years. ;)

Unfortunately there is no viable alternative for my flying needs so I will bite my tongue and stick with QF and Oneworld for now.

The survey questions you posted about JQ are a little confusing. Offering the same SCs for a JQ flights add QF flights?

They only offered my 1000 points! Ripped off!

I got most of the way through, accidentally clicked the button to exit the survey, and now can't get back into it.

Completed this survey tonight...long!!!

I can see why they offered 2K points to do it...I certainly would have bailed otherwise.

As kpc posted, seems a lot to do with views expressed on the feedback thread(s) that Red Roo participated in.

I got it and completed it.

There were quite a number of questions about points and SC's for Jetstar.

As a person who always looks for the cheapest fare in Aussie [I fly and pay for J myself over 7 hrs overseas] I would welcome SC's for jetstar. The points don't worry me. I get heeps more on my CC.

I fould it a very interesting survey. What was interesting was you could not go backwards.

I did it. Took 45 minutes. Didn't like the structure of the questions, the options they gave were never entirely my preference. I would prefer them to put all benefits in a list, then rack and stack them.

Let's see how long it takes for the points to be awarded. Said up to 6 weeks - I will have forgotten by then!

I found it frustrating not to be able to go back and check or revise answers to questions that may have become less ambiguous or have a different context in the light of a subsequent question.

Bring on Lifetime WP :D and with the new SC requirement for Partner SG, it should be Partner WP . I hope RedRoo is scanning this thread.

Obviously the no back tracking was intentional. What was interesting was the token things where you made selections of what you wanted to prioritise and then got given more tokens and then more tokens...

I think QF were really trying to get peoples thoughts on if you can't have everything what do you want first.

I was only upset by the fact that sometimes you had to choose between things when I wanted neither.

I can see a new level appearing soon above WP and also I have a feeling SC's on QF metal may be worth more than Oneworld SC's.
