New safety video

I was getting sick of seeing that JT video. Different the first few times, then just annoying.

He's been deleted and replaced with a QF pilot.

I posted a note about it in another thread. I don't think it was edited that well as it really looks disjointed... at least they got the QF pilot to say crew! but the voiceovers still say team!

My partner flew CBR to ADL this morning. I excitedly asked what was new about the video. But he got the JT one. I guess they're still implementing across the fleet.

It's disappointing that they haven't made a completely new one. Especially as Qantas had said that the reason they were changing was to maximise passenger viewing.

Its Richard Champion de Crespigny isn't it?[h=1]

Has he just been deleted from the start/end, or is it all new? if so, please describe!
All new - slightly different wording. Couldn't see the screen properly as I was just to the side of the first screen that comes down from the ceiling and am too short-sighted to see the ones at the bulkheads properly when seated. Has a qantas pilot introducing it, doesn't use the word team, which some here will be happy about, and I'd say it's more similar to the pre-JT video than the JT video.

the actual safety brief is the one from the JT video. same music and same to pilots on the flight deck at the end. All that has changed the the intro and end which is replaced by the QF pilot.

Thanks, but honestly, why bother changing it unless you change it completely!

We'll have to ask jb747 who the pilot is?

Well John Travolta deserves a break after flying for forty years as a pilot! You'd think he'd run out of fuel.

This morning flew from TSV to BNE and no JT safety video.

It looks like they have edited him out as it was not smooth between the presenter and safety demo.

I'm pretty sure it is the Qantas Chief Pilot which is the most appropriate choice.

- the fact that they did in fact just edit JT out tends to add to the Union's argument...

I saw it today. As others have said the edit was not smooth. The intro and ending by the pilot didn't really fit with the rest of the video. The pilot's delivery wasn't as slick as John Travolta but he did ok.

Certainly doesn't have the feel of a well planned change. Rather feels like a quick fix to silence some critics.

Subtly, every airplane is different...aargh!

Maybe JQ will inherit the video for their A330s when it gets retired from QF?

I believe they're still stuck with the "safety checklist" video and the Japanese language version of it referring to Qantas (カンタス).

Could have sworn the line about we know you know how to use a seat belt, but here's a few tips on how this one works wasn't there any more, but I was pretty tired so maybe I just missed it.
