Hi

Name is Nick

have QFF , krisFlyer and Velocity

I'm looking and absorbing everyone has to say and absorbing all the tips I can

Have no idea about J lounge, F lounge etc

I have 150,000 QF points and Bronze status

I'm looking forward to meeting other members, hearing about your travel stories and learning how to boost my status points

Nice to meet you guys

Thanks for the welcome guys,

Just wondering guys,

Do you have any experience traveling to JKT using QF ?

I will be traveling on 12 December 14, returning 7 January 15

12 December 14 - QF 41 Travel Class: Economy (S)

7 January 15 - QF 42 Travel Class: Economy (S)

I do have the option to upgrade to business class for 24000 points each way

I do have priority pass, any suggestion on lounges that I can access in Sydney or Jakarta

Any suggestion on this?

Thank you heaps

I am guessing you are going to Jakarta (CGK) on QF41/42.

International upgrades are a lottery, and do not get confirmed until much closer to the flight (i.e possibly as late as at the gate).
The flights I assume would be on 330's, so would I use 24k for an upgrade? It is really up to you.

I guess it depends on what you want to do with you 150k worth of points that you have stacked away.

Thank you Mannej

I am going to Jakarta (CGK) on QF41/42. You are correct

In regards of the seating arrangement, do you know where the best seat to choose?

At the moment using the flight stats, I found

J/9 C/9 D/9 I/9 U/3

Y/9 B/9 H/9 K/9 M/9 L/9 V/9 S/9 N/0 Q/0 O/0 G/0 X/0 E/0

I have no idea what it means

Thank you

In economy or business?

Also, are you on the A330-200 or A330-300?

Thank you Mannej

This shows how many seats are for sale.

J to U are business. They have 9 or more J booking class business seats for sale. Of those 9 or more QF will "sell" 3 as awards (U) As a guess very few business seats are currently sold.

Y to E are economy. They have 9 or more Y booking class economy seats for sale. With 9 or more S booking class for sale they have not sold many. Y to G is sort of the price range. Y is full economy. S are cheapish seats. E super discount. X is economy award

Yes to a point. 3 people can book an award flight in U class or it can be used for upgrade ~24 hrs before flight. And QF yeild management may release more seats for upgrades in the ~24 hour before the flight, if they are not sold. Your chances will depend on how many others have requested upgrades and their QF status. 12 Dec is a long time to the flight. QF will sell more seats in the next 7 months. Have a look 1 or 2 weeks before.
