Had that at the Crowne Plaza in NTL and the MEL airport HI twice this year. Definitely handy.

In late January I also received the 500 point voucher at the HI Melbourne Airport.
It has a "Please deposit by 06/2013" message on the front so I will hang onto it for now. We are spending a lot more nights at Hiltons, so I will monitor my PC points to ensure I make platinum again and determine which year to apply the voucher.

Was given the option of two free drinks or a 500 pt voucher at the HI Potts Point last month. Was told it was a new initiative to recognize PC members holding status.

Got offered this at HI MEL, other options was a small snack bag/water or a drink at the bar. Nice benefit. (But the staff looked at me a little strangely, thinking I'd prefer the other options!!)

Haha my wife looks at me the same way too. Points have more value than peanuts. My wife would've chose the coughtail.
