Hiya:D, I'm an Aussie currently living in Canada. I've been travelling back & forth over 11yrs with many different airlines and directions sadly I'm only a NB-. I'm on my way home for a holiday to Brisvegas Tues 23 QF16 PE with an UG for the very first time(fingers x'd) using Q F/F pts. My connections from YWG via DEN with UA. Question:if I'm not UG'd is there anything I can say at the desk to go on a waiting list or something? and if I am UG'd am I allowed in the Y lounge? Thank you very much.;)

QF16 on 23/8 is showing J9 C9 D9 I9 W9 R9 T9 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O9 G0 E0 - so plenty of availability in business, your chances are reasonable for the upgrade.

If you don't get it, there's no "upgrade waitlist" as such you can go on - and asking the check-in staff would probably have no effect, unfortunately :(

If you do get upgraded you will be able to use the J lounge at LAX.

Welcome to AFF Mari!

Good luck with the upgrade request.

Just wanted to let you know I did get the upgrade to Y and found out at 7am PT the morning of the flight. Enjoyed all the amenities of the lounge and the comfort of the seat. I don't know how I am ever going to go back to Economy again!!!. thnxs
