Hi

I stumbled across this forum when researching for credit cards to sign up for a few weeks ago.

I may end up signing up to the Amex Platinum Edge Card but for some reason, I can't seem to post on the "AMEX Platinum Edge - 15,000 bonus points" thread under "Referral Offers". Do I require special permission to post on this thread?

Thanks!

Howdy, yep lots of credit card info here and how to maximise it for you!

Cheers

Matt

I don't think I meet two criteria just yet :)

Maybe in the next two years you'll manage a few more posts?? :)

Hey, a fellow member from Perth :)

I will do my best to post once a year :P

This is probably not the right place to ask this. I switched over to an ANZ AMEX/Visa Rewards Black a couple of years ago and have really enjoyed accruing 3 points per $ on the Amex, and 2 points per $ on the Visa. I am very annoyed that they changed the earn rate to a miserly 1.25 points on the Visa card just last month. :( Perhaps I should look into an alternate Visa/MC card that has good earning rate.

Yep, there are a few of us in Perth...

I prefer the ANZ QF Black card for the QF points and several other items such as the low threshold for the complimentary travel insurance and the Veloce lounge program... As they wouldn't give me any break on the annual fee for the 2nd year I closed it down and got the ANZ Rewards black card and earned the 75,000 points, as it comes to 12 months and they want the annual fee I will close it down and apply for the QF Black card and try to get the 75k QF points...

But yes it is worth having a 1 point per $ Visa/MC card.... I had and still do have a HSBC QF card but that will be closed when next annual fee is due... And also have a Macquarie Visa and they also just recently announced a bunch of downgrades as well... Seems to be par for the course these days...

Welcome aboard sschen.
You are really getting just 1.5pts effectively on your ANZ Amex. You should be supplementing it with a real Amex Platinum Edge which gives 3 full points at supermarkets and 2 pts for petrol. Juggle your cards depending on were you are spending.
