Hi,

Just some newbie questions I can't find on the Qantas website (easily)

1) If I redeem my points for a flight - do I earn points/status credits on it?

2) If I redeem my points to upgrade a class (Economy to Business for example) do I earn points at the original rate or upgraded rate?

Thanks!

Classic award, no. If using Any Seat Awards, then yes.

You earn status credits and points for the cabin/class of the ticket you purchased, not the cabin to which you upgraded.

Thanks for the fast reply!

And I'm guessing ANY SEAT is normally twice the points (for example) than classic reward?

No. ASA are normally at a market rate, so the points cost of these awards can fluctuate significantly.

Depending on where you are, your points balance and your qualification targets, always give an ASA a look-in when redeeming for flights. While you may spend a few more points than normal on them, you will earn valuable SC's which help you reach the desired qualification level, and you can get on any conveinent flight as long as there's availability.

I know its the wrong area but does anyone know if its the same with VELOCITY?

Reward = no points/status
Any seat = awards/status
