Point Breaks - Priority Club Connect

Bookable Monday US time (so probably Tuesday). I expect the HI in BKK won't last long, and wonder if the absence of Oceania is an oversight and the real list will have a local option?

I've gone on a few times over the last few days and no Oceania properties. I just assumed this was par for the course. It's usual then, I take it?

I also looked at the PP website specials (newsletter page) and IC Sanctuary Cove is advertising a BOGO deal without needing the certificate but that special ran out in June, but the July/Aug edition shows a different ICSC special (25%)???? Is it common for them to "pad out" the specials a bit with expired ones? It appears the web site is not updated to match the newsletter.

Properties drop off when their rooms are all taken, Vanuatu and the Canberra Crowned Plaza did not last long when it's $35 a night to stay there.

Hi

A NB's question here, please

How often do they update the list ?

Is there a frequency to it so that we could set our "alarms" for our watch list ?

Cheers

They update it around the date the last one is due to expire, last for 2 months or so.

Thanks, Markis10

There is some overlap apparently.

Current list expires 31st Aug and the new one is scheduled for (US) Monday 26th Aug.

Maybe the "alarms" should be set for about 7 days out

By the time the new one comes out, there is rarely any good properties left on the list.

List is now up and bookable, sadly the preview was complete and no Oceania properties feature :(

Most of the BKK dates are now unavailable in October. However next week you can book a week. Would still be useful if you only need a night or 2 in BKK.

Wish I had booked a cheap flight with QF.

Bangkok Sukhumvit 22 had a few nights available in October when I looked last night but most gone now.

I need to start doing something with my ~300,000 PC points but I can't find anywhere decent to use them without paying USD70 a night as well for the reward stay.

So with IHG, we don't have the option of booking either a full points reward or a points + pay reward?

You always have to option of paying of paying with points or a copay of $35 and $70 alternatively, only time there is no copay is the Pointsbreaks.

Yes you do.

But I don't stay in expensive properties and when a property is 15,000 points + USD70 co-pay or I can pay for a full night at ~USD110 then using points makes no sense.

Makes a lot of sense, especially in Thailand where $80 is the going rate for a four points, Aloft or HIX, same in KL.

Indeed and there are a couple of options in BKK and KL where you can get SPG rewards from 3K points as a counterpoint.

Which is $90 worth of star points.

With most hotel reward programs your best bet is to make the points at cheap destinations and redeem them at expensive hotels e.g. Manhattan.

What if you only travel to cheap destinations?

The last revision of property categories was rubbish....
