No Champagne in QF AKL F lounge

That probably got everyone’s attention. I’m sitting in AKL F lounge for lunch and there is no champagne. We are enhanced with the local Brancott Estate. Evidently they have run out of champers.

I believe QF announced the SYD-AKL-JFK route sometime in 2022 with the promise of the lounge upgrade by the time the route starts, and yet the works haven't even started. What a letdown.

I was there at 4:40am, but was more interested in a strong coffee so didn’t pay attention to the champagne reserves.

Have you tried it? I assume that's what I had in the AKL business lounge a week ago. It wasn't that great, but I managed a second.
