No Classic rewards F class showing to Europe for 2 PAX?

Hi all

I have been trying to find classic rewards seats from Europe back to Australia in Feb next year. I have some flights locked away on EK metal but hoping to do a bit better...

When I use the multi-city search function, F availability doesn't seem to show. I don't mean there are no seats available, F just doesn't come up at all. I have the box ticked for all classes and quite often it will show no availability in J or Premium economy, etc but there is no column for F.

Am I missing something or doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance.

You might need to fly back on separate flights to both get F.

book one seat and hope (pray) a second one becomes available!
Grab what you can. You can always change later if 2 come up on a particular date. Or Maybe 1xF and 1xJ

And yes the search results is dependant on what you are asking. If you ask for 2 and it does not have 2, it will not show availability.

It's always good for the relationship to sort out who gets to sit up the pointy end and who doesn't.🤣

If the OP can't find 2 First class reward seats, surely just Business would do?

Changing flights after the fact / booking, is a pain in the (you know what) with Qantas, especially when 90% of the time they cannot see the reward seats that we can see online.

I tried to change my JQ economy reward seats (the only option at the time of booking) to a even just a QF economy reward flight - I was told over and over by up to 10 consultants, that there was no availability - when I could see the reward seats online myself!

Of course, they make it difficult for reward bookings to be changed by not having the option to change online.

Rebook the new then cancel the old

Easier said than done - if you have the points to rebook prior to cancellation / reimbursement and if the specific reward seats are still available.

In summary, if one can find reward seats in one go, book it, because it WILL be a pain later on to change / get a consultant who is able to "miraculously" see the reward seats that we can see online.

I've had to call literally over one hundred times to be told the same answers -
"We are unable to see the reward seats you see online",
"Those reward seats are for new bookings only",
"There are no reward seats on the day that you're looking at"

... all whilst I look at my computer screen seeing the reward seats I want to book, but can't because Qantas don't have the function to change reward bookings online - the only way is to call.

Not everyone is Platinum and therefore gets Hobart.

is it now the case there's no Classic Rewards to Europe during our winter / their summer season?

HBA won't be able to help with EK reward seats - there's no such thing as opening reward seats on non QF operated flights (and getting QF1/2 is very very difficult - even for P1) so unfortunately you're at the whim of what EK's releasing in F.
