I was looking at airfares on Jetstar.com this morning (yeah, I know ) and when using the booking engine for a day trip, the following message window popped up:

It made me laugh. Perhaps it is rare for JQ pax to do day trips?

It's interesting that Jetstar/Virgin are using these pop-ups to second guess the mistakes of the users. On balance I think it is a good idea. For example I can think of at least 2 occasions when my wife has purchased a ticket for a PM time when she thought it was an AM time:confused: .

I've seen that before. It is good that it is just a warning and you can proceed. A peeve of mine are those sites that won't let you book a return on onward flight on the same date (or even previous date if you've crossed the international date line). Very annoying.

I guess the concept of a mileage/status run is not something the JQ programmers expected :p .

LOL! Maybe they are genuinely concerned for passengers game enough to fly JQ more than once a day. ;)

We are talking about Jetstar aren't we?

They *may* be concerned that the pax wouldn't be able to check their baggage back in time. Or maybe because the pax could have to drive many km's to another airport even though they chose Melbourne as the destination for one flight and the start of another?

Nah. The web programmers (or those that are left in Australia!) probably genuinely care.
