I have been looking at booking an award F class seat from SYD to SFO in August 2010, but there was no F class showing for all of August. All other classes (Y, PE and J were available). When I contacted QF FF they said there were no award F seats showing on their system for August, however, there was paid F class available.
I was also told it depended on how many F class seats were sold whether they change the flight to selling it as a 3 class config (Y, PE & J class, and with F class seats available for status pax flying J). Therefore, I had no option and had to book an award J class. I seem to remember a thread about QF discontinuing F class travel to the GFC, but it seems strange that there are plenty of award F class available in July 2010 so August might be the cut off point.
