I'm travelling tomorrow morning on a standard, run-of-the-mill O class domestic red e-deal for work.

Booked & paid online, I've done this once, I've done it a hundred times. At no stage have I had human interaction in regard to this booking.

However, the system is not allowing me to OLCI.

I have tried several time but the icon is simply showing greyed out:

Looking at ExpertFlyer, my flight is scheduled a 763 and is showing J1 D0 Y6 B0 H6 K0 M0 R0 L0 V0 S0 N0 Q0 O0.

I do see bookings are very heavy - In 9 QF flights from 8am to Noon there are no K class seats available, a total of 27 H, 0 B, 27 Y, 0 D & 14J. (J14 D0 Y27 B0 H27 K0 ...)

Another factor is that the flights before 8am seem to have plenty of avialable spaces showing lots of 9's down to N (even an O7).

When it has been extremely busy periods in the past, I have experienced Quick-Check machines not letting me check in and advising me to contact counter staff. This was generally do to Qantas wanting to toss punters onto earlier flights to make room for overbookings etc. (I try to avoid this as I lose my generally good preallocation)

I have not travelled during such a busy period since OCLI was introduced - has anyone else experienced a similar situation with OLCI?

Serfty - Same problem. Travelling from Brisbane to Adelaide this afternoon and haven't been able to use OLCI at all. The flight is not busy, showing lots of 9's. Maybe OLCI is down??

JB

Mrs Batesy had could not OLCI for her PER-SYD yesterday. Same issue.

I'm flying from Canberra to Sydney tomorrow morning and I've got the same problem.

I phoned the Service Centre - they didn't know what the problem was but they did say the flight was not heavily booked. This surprised them as this is sometimes the reason for OLCI not working (as noted previously).

I use the OLCI function very often so I have an electronic record and don't have to keep the paper pass (I know I have the website record but my employer doesn't accept that for proof:shock: ).

Anyway I usually run at about 1 in 8 attempts with OLCI not available. On those occasions it's always been a very heavily booked flight, but I've alway stayed on the flight and got a good, but sometimes not great, seat. Benefit of being an WP, never getting asked or told to change flights (which did happen as an SG:evil: ).

I've Quick checked now; good, but not great row 27 aisle seat on a ZX

Very heavy morning, E/F is now showing a total of 5 WHY seats on 3 of the 9 flights up until Noon, none before 10:30am. (Y1, Y3, Y1, the other six are Y0)

I have experienced OLCI being unavailable when a flight has been delayed and also when a flight has been cancelled and I have been moved to another flight. According to the QF call centre rep I spoke to on each occasion, this is by design. Apparently they need to record in the booking that you have been advised of the delay/flight change and once they do that then OLCI is available.

Not in this case.

FWIW, I did notice at least two passengers who used OLCI printouts when boarding.

Just tried OLCI for my parents for tomorrow: Adl-Syd - not working!

It's official...OLCI is broken!:(

I've just done the OLCI for tomorrow evening's flights and it worked fine.

The only peculiar thing I noticed is that my seat assignment was a bit haywire...

Still not working for me for QF676 to Melbourne tomorrow. Is anyone having any success?

JB

There is definitely something wrong with OLCI. Just spoke with a FFSC consultant and they said that their IT department have asked that examples of where OLCI is not working be forwarded to them for investigation.

My flights for this arvo and tomorrow morning will have to be checked-in at the airport - how novel! :)

No go for my QF CBR-MEL tomorrow morning.

Not overly worried, looks like fruit for breakfast at the QC and surely that has to be good for me.:D

Maybe I should've been worried. The flight was cancelled.:(
