No Qantas premium wine memberships available at the moment?

I'm buying wine to help me towards PC and was thinking I'd join Premium Membership to boost the points a little bit (I know membership is included in PC). Looking around the website today and there is no option to join at the moment. Called Qantas Wine and they confirmed it, with no news on when it might be available. Does anyone know anything else?

Sounds odd…!

I assume there’s no link or option to pay to upgrade while making an online order/purchase?

Nope, I went through to step 4/4 in the checkout thinking the same thing but alas no. It's only been in the last few weeks I think. I'm sure I had it in my shopping cart at one stage and then deleted it as unnecessary.
Unless I'm looking in the wrong place?

I was about to ask the brains trust here about the same thing! The premium membership page is quite vague at the moment!
Yep, I can‘t see anywhere info on “purchasing” Premium membership. I do know that if you’re gifted free membership via QBR, you get a code that you apply at checkout. Others have reported that PC is applied automatically (but I can’t confirm as I was already a Premium member via QBR when I first attained PC).

Looks like this still hasn't come back. There are still lots of ways to get premium membership for free nowadays, but there's no way to buy it individually. Bizarre.

Given FF members often use Qantas Wine as an easy way to boost points to retain PC/PC+ (especially with a Premium Membership), perhaps Qantas closing off the Premium Membership direct purchase option forces people to chase points via other avenues. I wonder if this is just a sneaky mechanism for Qantas to boost interest in their other FF points-earning offerings for anyone seeking to qualify for PC/PC+?

Certainly pre-PC, I’d receive invites ever other month to join the then Epicurean and later QF Wine Premium. I recall having a freebie membership to Epicurean years ago, which I don’t recall using. I then got QF Wine Premium gratis when I joined QBR just before PC - so that and lock downs worked in my favour!

It’s possible/probable that the sign up fee for the occasional points purchase with free wine isn’t covering the free shipping costs.

Yeah, I could certainly see this factoring into the equation as well. There are obviously plenty of other avenues for obtaining a “free” Premium Membership, but given they generally entail consuming some other QFF complimentary product (e.g. credit card), it ensures the consumer is sucked deeper into the overall QFF “ecosystem”. Win-win for Qantas and their partners.

I got free Epicurean (which was superior because they had food in addition to wine options - which was a good way for non drinkers to get bonus points on chocolates) with my Amex Qantas Ultimate, and that evolved into Premium Qantas Wine membership. I think I also qualify via PC.

Ive done minimal orders using voucher to get green leafs for Green Tier.
