Hi guys,

I've just stumbled across this forum and it looks great :) I've got Silver status on Qantas and Virgin though I think I'll probably lose that in the next membership year so I'm hoping this forum can help. Gold would be amazing but I just don't fly enough. I have a trip to Spain/Morocco booked already on BA in September so I'm sure I'll get a few ideas until then. Pitty about BA/Qantas separating, was hoping to use the Qantas Club lounges on my BA ticket.

Anyway, HI!

Welcome to AFF curiost.

Has there been any mention of losing access to Qantas lounges when flying BA? You are still able to access to Qantas lounges when flying AA so I would expect the same to continue with BA as both airlines are still part of Oneworld.

Access to BA lounges is a different story though.

There hasn't been any mention of changing the Qantas lounge access on a BA ticket, but I'll bet after March 31 something will give. Obviously their one world connection doesn't change for Qantas Gold/Platinum members but I think there was a special agreement for Qantas Club members flying on BA tickets because of the partnership between BA and Qantas. Now that it is ending I wouldn't be surprised if they stopped Qantas Club members not on a Gold or Platinum status getting in. Finger crossed but only time will tell. I've found a couple of other posts asking the same thing and there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer.

There is also a special agreement in place with AA and I do not expect it to change for BA. I guess we will find out soon enough.

Hi curiost,

Welcome aboard curiost, looks like you've got some great travel coming up. Sometimes we need to remember that quality is just as important as quantity.

Hope you post about your travel experiences and we get to learn about a new place.

Thanks everyone :) I wish I'd found this forum earlier, I fly overseas every year to a different place just for the experience of it all. I'm addicted! I'm only 24 and have been to more parts of the world than pretty much everyone I know. Self funded too - but every cent is worth it :)
