Well, it looks like taking SWMBO in business is going to cost me after all. There is no business lounge in ADL, but there is in BNE. She has taken a shine to the Marc Nelson (or whatever his name is) Noritake plates in the business lounge. After a brief discussion  we agreed that we are not going to steal a set of the plates. Not the least because I'd hate to be banned over such a triviality.

Can these plates be purchased anywhere?

Sorry if this should be in playground

I assume you know what his last name actually is :p

Once you spell his name right it’s easy. And yes, you have to wait till August.

I knew it was some designer-ie name instead of a decent, down to earth name like Nelson. ;)

Oh BTW I didn't google it or anything. Better to ask the experts here.

You could always renew your vows (at an outrageously OTT beachside location) and have it on the gift list ;p

maybe i'm new to the whole high end crockery thing, but are these not insanely expensive?

with prices like that stealing them is a viable option!!!

I can see getting away with a plate each time, if you’re careful about it, but surely you’d then need the cutlery to match ;)

I remember something in an Australian Way about Qantas changing the online shop to effectively allow you to furnish your house as a Qantas Club/First Lounge, but it has not yet happened (I have always secretly wanted a clickety clack departures board in my living room), and the leather cutlery "wallets" for the table

I think i saw it in the January Mag, so it would seem to be SOP that it would't actually exist until september/october

I’d have thought a "clickety clack departures board" would cost several thousand at the very least!

I have to admit, the en-suite/shower at PER Dom looked rather nice and would suit a 1 bedroom flat. Given the chance, l would have one for sure. The shower with the tiles and overhead shower-head looked modern. It was one on the left l used, so l can't speak for all of them.

I'd happily furnish my house with a MEL/SYD F-lounge shower or some (not all) of their leather chairs. ;)

On topic though, medhead and samh004 I really wish you hadn't raised this issue - now I have to deal with precisely the same dilemma at home (to complement the bodum coffee cups)!

In fact, more troubling is the delay until they become available.

I dislike those plates immensely - they are impracticable whether in the air or the lounge!

The base ring is too narrow on both the dinner and bread plates meaning a downward pressure applied outside said ring (say when cutting food, buttering bread with cold butter) can cause the plat to suddenly tilt, flipping food that was resting on the other side of the plate across you and over anything/anyone else nearby.

You need to concentrate on only cutting/buttering/pressing inside the ring toward the middle.:-|

I really NEED a Concierge at home. How much do they cost? Do I have to provide the black suit and pay extra for the obsequios smile?
