Based on discussion in the island dining thread, a normal lounge food thread seems in order. So he it is and to kick start things we have chicken parmigiana and mash in the SYD T3 J lounge.

I had much debate about where was best to start this thread as it could be open to all lounge food. But decided QF lounges might be a good starting point.

That is my type of food.

Looks really nice. I hope it is not gourmet in any way.

I hope #WP8 app comes soon. Have lovely pic to post. Just need desktop...

I know it is the wrong airline, but this really hit the spot flying out of Canberra the other week.

But that is not the the QC by the look (could be the VA lounge maybe???). Fill me in here please.

That's the lovely spacious VA lounge with the gorgeous views.. Shame about the less than inspiring cuisine..
IIRC the drink offerings were considerable.. :D

Yuck :shock::shock::shock:

Give me the CBR QF J food any day!

It's better than the DRW QP! I had gone from meeting to meeting without a chance to stop all day. Thus, I thought MYO Hotdogs was something a bit different and a bit fun compared with Canberra overall. I also received really nice party pies delivered to my seat, along with wine brought to me. Really good service, even if there wasn't a parmy. Not trying to compare with a J Lounge.

To be honest though, I got Nasi or Mee Goreng for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a side of chilli sauce and I couldn't care where I was.

No cheese! What a disgrace!

No not a QC, a virgin lounge. (and perhaps a comment about me being over the VA hotdogs)

For the record, I thought this thread should be multi-airline but I couldn't find a suitable place for posting updates and such. (note the final comment in the OP. Hence starting it in the QF section. Perhaps someone can suggest a better place for the thread to make it multi airline useable.

Cheese was available - but I don't even butter my bread unless it is raisin toast. I'm more of a sauerkraut and mustard kind of guy.
I get enough mozarella/tasty-ish plastic cheese in this house with a daughter who is lactose intolerant anyway. I miss making pizzas with bocconcini.

What I would like to see on the thread though is a movie of a Japanese Beer Dispenser in the Qantas Lounge in NRT or similar in action. I would love to see QF or VA put one self-serve beer dispenser into their pubs and observe the reaction.

The cheese comment was a bit of a joke. I only use butter with Vegemite. But I do like cheese on the hotdog with mustard and tomato sauce.

I know - but I wanted to clarify just in case people thought Virgin were cheap! After doing Christmas Markets in Germany and Austria, or getting a hot dog on the street in Toronto (BBQ Kransky) American hot dogs are pretty banal in comparison. Now thinking of German sausages, where can I get a pretzel, weisswurst and sweet mustard with a stein of white beer on a Friday morning in Darwin??? Definitely need a roadtrip to Hahndorf on one of the 1 dollar rentals back to Adelaide in the buildup!

You're making me think of weisswurst in Munich hauptbahnhof. Might have to visit hahndorf this weekend.

Sucks living in a city where the people are such alcoholics that booze cannot be served before 10am, and that's liberal compared with elsewhere.

Nothing to do with alcoholism... Just prudish morals restricting the ability for people to make their own choices...

Delicious.

You have made me jealous. I am going to watch what I eat all week and then have a hot dog, or 2, next Friday. ;)
