Who here actually has been there? With the recent trip of Eric Schmidt of Google, could it pave way for more tourists? no? Well. About 300 tourists go to Pyongyang every year from Beijing and US citizens aren't banned anymore...oh and Air Koryo just opened an online booking service..

My husband went into Pyongyang in 1988. This was during the Olympics and a small part of the Australian Olympics team entered.

I haven't been. After I read Tony Wheeler's account of it in "Badlands", there was and is no interest. I doubt I could handle the masquerade.

It's a pretty good read. The chapter on Iraqi-Kurdistan however, had me champing at the bit. Lived up to expectations too.
