Hello :) Thanks to the very helpful members of this forum I made it to WP, yay!!! But, I am off in 10 days on a month-long O/S jaunt and more than half of my flights end up being on AA, so I was wondering what the chances are that I will be able to access the F lounges without my card, which I am presuming won't show up before I go... Also, do you need the card to access the F Lounge in Syd/LHR/Sin or is the boarding pass enough (on QF)... I'm also passing through Tokyo, my last flight home is from there on QF, will I be able to access the JL F lounge without the card?

First, congratulations on making WP!

Has your online account updated with your status? If so, you should have no problems on any QF flight or at any QF lounge.

You could call QFF and see if they can courier over your card - I believe it used to cost $30, not sure about what it is now.

You may want to remove and reapply your QFF number to your AA bookings just to make sure that the are updated with your new status. AA should be able to see that you are OWE and update your booking / BPs accordingly, so you shouldn't need your card as well at their lounges (though it might be wise to keep a print out of your account summary handy too, and I'm not sure whether that would work when flying domestically since it is your 'QP membership' that gets you in there rather than your status).

Don't know about the JAL F Lounge, but again I would keep the BP and a printout of your status handy anyway.

FWIW, you're in a much better position than having passed the WP qualification threshold but waiting for the relevant flights to credit and have QFF's own system update to reflect the status due to slow partner SC posting. Has happened to me and several others - nothing more frustrating than reaching the goal but still having the benefits out of your reach for a while! :)

Congrats on getting your WP. Well done.

You need your card for overseas lounges, unless you have BP's issued all the way initially with printed info on it. It is still better to have your card.

You can call the platinum priority phone number and ask them to courier your card. This will only take couple of business days, but you will have to pay $30 for this service. But, atleast you will have the peace of mind that you will definitely have your card in time (normal time to receive your card is 14 days).

FWIW, I've never, ever been asked to produce a card when flying on AA for a lounge. Though I have needed it at LHR to actually access either the J or F check-in queue (or, lack of queue.)

A card is useful to get QF based elite benefits when travelling on AA flight in class that won't earn on QFF (e.g. Q).

djfuzz's advise re removing the QFF number from the bookings, then replacing it is pertinent.
