NZ award seats

Can SQ miles be used for Air NZ flights? Is there availablity generally, between say Syd and Wellington? Will appreciate feedback and advice

Yes you can, but NZ availability is not plentiful. You'll have more luck booking Y (which is all that's available between SYD-WLG anyway).

You can search for seats using the United website or a tool like Seats.aero, then go to the SQ website to book. You need to search for Star Alliance seats, not SQ.
