No particular issue, but really to post about flying related matters :)

* A booking HBA-CBR-xMEL-HBA required me to enter APIS (ie passport) data (which Qantas has had for years and its unchanged). Now, I realise the states are treating each other like different countries, but this is getting ridiculous!

* Every time I go into the booking, it asks for it again - the 'confirm' box needs checking again.

... Qantas work experience kids at it again.

One of the legs from CBR has been cancelled, as expected, 3 days out. But I was advised by a lengthy text, rather than e-mail. Seems a better idea to me - certainly more up-front. The text said to the effect that: one of the flights from CBR has been cancelled; they are working on a replacement; don't contact them yet; new flights tomorrow evening; options available like flight credit when we do. Again, no complaints about this - early alert of a problem (which was fully expected by me) and a'cure' being worked on.

It'll be another TravelPass with DSC when the new arrangements come through. :)

Heh heh, of all things, entering APIS data on purely (only) Aust domestic travel!
You know, I have never had to enter APIS data when I made purely Aust domestic flight bookings with either QF/VA.
Only had to do it for flights to NZ.
Well, at least it gives the kick of the tyres, or the feeling you are doing something we used to do when we used to be able to fly internationally, freely without asking permission to travel overseas from ABF/Aust govt.
Better than like me, getting my travel kicks from watching other peoples flights on youtube!

….Will we soon have to show said passports when we depart?! Actually maybe even the state border pass too ie the cough (‘cough’ - a Colony RequirEd Arrival Permit)… remember the good old days where the border force guy screws up their eyes to look at the crumpled mess before them at 2am at Changi who looks even worse than their passport photo… like you say feels like grown up travel…

Yes, that domestic "*visa* I am using this term lightly, tongue in cheek, to enter" an Aust state from another Aust state (covid pass if you must), and this maybe that will be with us for a long time time, re covid, and we might go down the US way where we have to show id before a flight, but hopefully it would not have to be said passport.
WA and SA already have you need to apply for a pass to enter.
Losing a passport is a pain in the %%% to replace, I think a driving license might be so too, but less of it than losing and having to replace a passport.
Replacing a driving license, might be be passport and 2 other pieces of id, from B/C, A being passport for 75 points of id, Medicare 25 and bill with your name and address, 25 more.
At least with a driving license, its small and can be put into a pocket with a button down, and less likely of losing it, but a passport is bigger.
If you lose that passport, you need your Aust citizenship paper/parchment and referee to sign photo blah blah that they have known you for so long, etc, to get a new Aust passport.
