Not quite a citirewards, but just some extra benefits for having a citibank credit card.

Thought I share since I'd not noticed this before - never foudn the citi privilidge rewards to be much use so pretty much ignored the rewards section on the web site.

Offers and Privileges - Citibank Australia

Did a quick check for using the hotelclub booking for October in San Fran and it was up to $20 a night cheaper on the more expensive hotels, and usually around $10 a night cheaper for the price range I was looking at when compared to the standard aussie hotelclub website.

you can also buy coles and woolworths gift vouchers for 5% off with a $3 registered post fee.

There's some restaurant deals as well - 15% off waggamamma, 25% off an the pumphouse in darlingharbour, buy 1 main get 1 free at Charr in the Jamison Hotel Sydney.

Oooh, it says that a Citi card holder is also automatically a Presidential Card holder... that's good to know!

You can now take advantage of over 3,500 exciting offers at 8,000 locations nationwide, because as a Citi cardholder you are automatically enrolled as a Presidential Card member.

The shopping vouchers are a bit of a rip though, 'coz through Entertainment Book, the Registered Post shipping is free. (Granted, normally you'd have to buy the book, but they're part of our corporate employee benefits scheme, so I don't have to pay for it...)

Righto! I'm totally set!

Thanks for pointing this out - I've never looked either as their rewards section is pretty awful.

I lost interest in world privileges when they had no offers whatsoever for the US.

I was most interested however to see the hotel club page - made me realize that the 'amazing' 10 bonus points offer for Amex MR is paid for through higher prices grrr

greenfrog

i noticed that when using the velocity / virgin blue hotel club site that either the prices were often higher, and a large number of hotels were marked as not available, yet were easy to book on the standard hotel club web site.

after finding these extra goodies it has sort of left me feeling i will stay with them for another year.

my parents are happy for me to buy them the woolies gift vouchers - they save about $45 a month and I'm getting another 1200 points

the Woolworths card saves 5%. So you'll have to buy the value of $900 to save $45, but costs $855. How do you get the 1200 points?

if I buy 2 * $500 gift cards the cost is $953 with shipping.

I earn 1.25 points per $ so around 1168 points for the transaction.

win win set up :p

Am I going blind (quite possible)? Can someone point out where the Hotel Club link is.

'Tis a hotlink attached to the text "Offers and Privileges - Citibank Australia" in the middle of the OP.

Right. Silly me!

On a general note, I wish Citibank would re-organise their rewards program so that any special offers, programs and affiliations would be all within reach. I feel like it's all hidden away somewhere and people have to find it.

and don't get me started on the 'Visa' platinum side of things. All disjointed and useless.

has anyone found the Presidental Card useful???

I tried using Shoppers Advantage (related to the Presidential Card I think) and ordered some gift cards. Took 4 weeks for them to tell me they're short on supplies.

Won't be using them again.
