Quick Question.

I've just done an OLCI for mrs nlagalle coming back from PER today. \

Question, as she is travelling with carry on only, can she print the boarding pass at the Checkin Kiosk? I remember a while back you couldn't but heard that you could now.

Can someone please confirm?

Cheers,

Nick

Some (All?) QuickCheck machines allow this functionality of re-printing an already checked in passenger's boarding pass. I don't know if that upgrade has been rolled out to all QuickCheck machines Australia-wide though.

Sweet.. thanks for the replies guys. I've never tried it personally as i usually go to the QP to get mine. ;)

I always do OLCI but never have a printer available.

They use to not like this practice and I got the "so you've done OLCI so you must have your BP"... always replied with "Sorry printer wouldn't work".

Things have changed now and they never say anything at check in and I have found the kiosks (which I rarely use) also spit them out.

I always do it as well and "never have a printer that works" as i like my old fashioned boarding pass (ok some habits die hard!). Never get that comment, they are more than happy to print it.

I do OLCI with iphone so no trouble explaining the missing BP ;-)

Is that a recent update to the iphone/ipod touch app? When I first downloaded that app it was interesting but not useful. I have an ipod touch and it would be great to use that to OLCI at home... now if only the bar code scanner could read the iphone/touch rather than printing a BP ;)

Simon, I belive this is what they are trying to do,, i have seen somthing about it in the past,

I too would prefer to use my ipod to OLCI and even better if you could save the PDF to the handheld to then be scanned !

I did exactly that on Wednesday for my PER-MEL flight, no problems at all it just spits it out. Pity's it's that coughpy thermal paper though..

The iPhone app is just as useless as it's always been... :(

Yes i much prefer the older style ones (hence my collection)

Ahh - so you just OLCI'd using safari then. Shame - the iPhone app has great potential but is currently taking up memory that could be better diverted to Monopoly ;)

Totally agree with you simon,

On Safari, if i try to go to Qantas.com via my iPod touch it takes me to the "iPod site" of QF,,

MAybe there is another way to get to the real site ?

Not a recent update to the qf app. I just log in at qantas.com and OLCI the normal way. Often the qantas.com website reverts to the qantas app, but the at the bottom of the front page of the app there is a link qantas.com (same for the ipod site, there should be a link to real qantas.com)

First did this at a boozy dinner when I realised a wanted a good seat for the flight the next day. Anti-social, but most at the table were slightly impressed.

You probably can, iphone is supposed to do pdfs. (would it be accepted at the gate. No?) But I recheck with the kiosk at the airport, to try for a better seat.

I know that there is a link to access the main QF sight at the bottom of the iPhone page, but if anyone knows how to bypass the iPhone site altogether that would be much appreciated.

I'm not sure how this works, but if entering the main qantas site using safari, I get a message about optimising for mobile devices and then it goes to something very like the app. I kinda of assume that it is opening the qantas app. Maybe if you remove the qantas app from iPhone, then it would go to the main site. Or maybe use a bookmark in safari.
