Personally I'd rather fly VN business class SIN-CDG (via HAN/SGN) and save a few dollars as well, eg $250. Possibly on the A350.

Also, I'm quite wary of transitting lesser ports in the Middle East, eg Muscat, even though it is a very interesting place.

Clifford, why do you say that? (I do not know the area, so I am not disagreeing - just curious)

The fare might not be 'flash' but Oman Air's business class is pretty good. They have full F class flat beds for business class (width and length). Their new business class is the same as JL's business suites.

Probably not so much interest in an AFF community, as Oman is not in an alliance and has very limited range of FF partners. :!: However, these fares would earn around 20,000 Etihad Guest miles, almost enough for MEL-PER in J.
