Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere or should be in a different thread.... am hoping the collective wisdom of AFF can assist, as I generally take the advice of a travel agent with a large grain of salt! **
I'm flying MH to KL and then onto Kota Kinabalua (SYD/KUL/BKI/KUL/SYD). I prefer points and status credits to go to VA, as I don't fly enough with MH to make any use of the status credits I get for my 2-3 trips per year.
According to VA, I get status on the international sectors, but the Web site states:
"^Velocity Points can not be earned on domestic flights within Malaysia or between Malaysia and Singapore and Brunei."
(KUL/BKI would be classed as domestic.)
I've put my VA number against the booking, but am wondering if I can have the domestic sectors (KUL/BKI/KUL) credited to my MH account.
(** The travel agent recommended that I book with my VA FF number, and ask MH to put my MAS FF number against each domestic leg on check-in.)
Not a big deal, but a) I hate not maximising points-earning on principle and b) I'm curious as to whether points & status credits are linked to a single PNR or to a specific flight/sector.
Thanks in advance...
