Thinking of booking a oneway JASA Nrt to Syd for JPY44692 and 72000 points but am puzzled by the cancellation conditions. Is my interpretation that I have to pay JPY4000 cancellation fee to get all my cash and points back, or that I will have to use the cash and points to book another fare ex Nrt within 12 months??

Cancellations (including no shows)

  • Before and after departure:
    • Forfeit JPY4000 of the fare paid - fee applies per person.
    • This fare may be used as credit towards the payment of any higher fare from the point of origin, provided the new fare condtions are met. If the new fare is cancelled the original fare cancellation conditions will apply. This credit must be used within 12 months of the original tickets date of issue.
  • Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award: If this is a Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award and the itinerary has been partially flown, then a proportion of the money and points originally used to obtain the award will be refunded to the applicable Member. The proportion refunded will be the remaining ticket value as allocated by Qantas as a proportion of the original ticket value.
Can anyone help? Probably unlikely to cancel but always like to know the exact cancellation conditions beore I commit:shock:;)

I have seen similar before with SIN JASA's - which I booked but treated a effectively non cancelable.

I've been looking at these NRT JASA's too (;)), but it's much cheaper in the $$$ component if you can Snaffle them as a return trip from Oz and the T&C's may be better (check this).

FWIW, I've given up and am simply going to book Q class with the sale as otherwise one is valuing 72k QFF points at ~$500 on the return YASA, let alone the JASA.

Posted on a wing and a prayer ...
