Hi folks,

Just planning a December US trip, that will probably involve (at this point) flying into LAX on QF, then going Las Vegas, Syracuse NY, Orlando, possibly Houston, then back to LAX to fly home (or possibly stopping somewhere in the middle between Orlando and LAX if I can convince my partner that the whole middle of the US isn't just a cultural wasteland).

Was looking at the North American pass - has anyone used one? Last time we got pretty cheap flights on Delta, but the planes were pretty old and crusty, and I wasn't overall very impressed. I'd rather fly OW and get the Qantas status credits/points and hopefully slightly less crusty planes. Is the pass likely to be better value than booking all the flights separately?

Cheers

It may be easier to use the pass, but it can be less expensive to make separate bookings. Even investigate "instant Upgrade" fares for significant SC/$ boost.

Thanks Serfty - I'll check it out. I don't really need the bonus SCs, as I should requal as Platinum easily next year on my domestic work travel alone, but it would be nice to get to LTS (and one distant day, LTG) sometime soon :-)

I'd rather save my $$ for nicer hotels than spend more on airfares though.
