When you reach your qantas status that gives you a different "tier" on oneworld, do you receive a card from oneworld? Or do their lounges keep track of all the different airlines status tiers.

ie: when you reach gold qff, do they post you a separate oneworld sapphire card?

I read somewhere that it is a dot or something on your card.

Also, I am current a QP member. When my membership turns to gold, will I receive a gold QP card, or just a gold FF card which I guess already has free QP membership attached.

Tried searching AFF for these answers, but didn't find much except for the coloured dot thingy.

Cheers

Your OW status is shown by a dot on your QFF card. When you attain a new status level you get a FF card, it will only say FF not QC.. ie when I travel I take my QFF silver card plus my QC card.. (QC lets me into associated lounges that do not know my QC status, ie AA and BA, while QFF-PS lets me use OW buisness class queues etc...)

Gold is where things may be different and I must defer to the more learned... as a gold FF, you are OW saphire, so access to OW lounges, including QC are implied by the QFF card alone, negating the need for a seperate QC card to be mailed out when you attain gold

Simple answer is all QC cards are bronze, QFF cards come in the flavours.. :)

It's a Ruby, Sapphire or Emerald coloured splodge in a certain location on the card. The card also has an expiry date. When you check-in your membership level is generally added to the ticket too, which can't be forged easily I'd say, if at all?

So it's not a OW card, it's your frequent flyer programs card with the appropriate coloured symbol on it.

As you're a current QP member and expect to turn to Gold soon, then you should have a Silver QF card somewhere, and you'll note that has a Ruby (red) splodge on it.

When you hit Gold, you'll receive a Gold QF card and what's left of your QP membership will be put on hold and reactivated if you fail to retain Gold at some point in the future.

Thankyou for all your replies!
Yes, I hope I get my silver one. I have not yet obained it, but will be makin a few business class trips soonish, so will be silver, then gold in reltively hor succession.

I was under the impression tat you din't get a new cad if you were a QP member who then obtains silver status? Isn't it that you just get a ne card when you obtain gold?

Making silver you will get a new card. But no Baggage Tags.

Yep... no luggage tags if you already have QP... if you are just QFF-NB you get PS tags... otherwise you just use your QP tags...

Are you sure? I remember having Silver luggage tags on my luggage when I was a QF Silver member 3-4 years ago....

I can confirm this is most certainly the case, if you are QP and you reach PS you will not receive baggage tags.
