From what I hear from some other people, I understand that the oneWorld classic award flight, which is based on return rather than one-way miles, is limited to a total of 35000 miles and five stopovers and you have to use two non-Qantas oneworld airlines.
A few questions I need to clarify:
(1) Is there a time limit on your itinenary? How long do you have to complete your itinenary starting from the first sector?
(2) Are all sector end-points counted as stopovers? If not, how many total sectors are you allowed? Does the 24-hour rule apply in terms of the definition of a stopover?
(3) Do you have to return to your starting point? Or can you for example begin your journey in Melbourne and finish in Perth?
(4) So, for example, would Perth-Johannesburg (stop)(1)-London(2)-Los Angeles(3)-Santiago(4)-Auckland(5)-Sydney be a valid itinenary? (The total is 29314 miles.)
