Hello All

I am planning a 4continent RTW fare in April with general below route planned (places I actually need to go) and am trying to work out the best way to maximise SC's earned by going via various locations on decent aircraft.

CBR-SYD-LHR-MAD-MEX-YUL-SYD-CBR

For status credit purposes on a RTW fare, are the flights classed as discount economy or economy?

I am also fairly happy to upgrade to Y+ on some routes but I am fairly keen on achieving QFF gold without adding extra continents or buying the business fare.

And FYI - I am a Qantas Club Silver member. Also, excuse the lack of acronyms, I couldnt find the list that you use so didn't want to use some incorrectly :p.

Thanks for your help!!!

Mitch

A quick think comes up with:

CBR-SYD-LHR-MAD-AMM-BUD-LHR-LAX-MIA-MEX-DFW-YUL-ORD-NRT-SIN-MEL-CBR

Utilises the full 16 segments, but only yields 370 SC's. Unfortunately, L only counts for discount economy status credit earn.

If you upgrade SYD-LHR, LHR-LAX, ORD-NRT and SIN-MEL to premium economy, it will yield another 60+35+40+30 = 165 SC's, for a grand total of 535 for the itinerary.

But, you will need to fork our $1250 + 825 + 825 +825 = $3725 for the upgrades.
