You are quite right. Thanks.Kiwi Flyer said:serfty's routing should also maximise the SC's in economy, or close to maximum. The selection of some north-american 2-class flights to get first class and the SCs for first will distort slightly but not by much.
Note that the routes to maximise SCs is different to the route to maximise earning - because SC earning is not dependent on airline but point earning is (differing minimum points and elite bonuses).
I didn't realise that in the US most routes are 2-class flights and therefore you get SC's for first class. So if I did my routing in business I may also come close to the 2300 SC's.
I understand about maximising SC's and points as well. In business all ff points acrual across the airlines I think is pretty similar but in economy is where the problem occurs with AA earning 0.5, BA earning 0.25 and CX now earning 0.5. So where possible I have included Finnair and Iberia which should be earning rate of 1 for economy and the rest is Qantas where the earning would be 1.25 (due to PS status).
Obviously QF to get to NRT, AA through to MIA, then IB to MAD,ATH, Finnair to CPH return, BA from ATH to LHR, then QF to HKG, mixture of CX and Finnair in SE Asia and return QF from NRT to SYD. This routing I am working on is over 50,000 miles so with correct airline usage as per above should be able to get 470 SC's in economy and almost 47,000 qff points. Business is a totally different kettle of fish more SC's and qff points but more $$$ as well.
