Been trying for a few hours. All I get is.

An error has occured in our central database. Please contact us for further information. (4002 [0])

Contacted them and they said they are happy to book it for me over the phone for a SGD50 phone fee. I think that's a bit rough.

I've been getting the same; it's the last day of the sale and I'm looking for a February flight to BNE for $119, rather than $160. :(

Same here. I was looking at a certain QF175 flight on a Saturday in February...

I Called Qantas premium (domestic) and was advised to try later.

They were unable to book for me either (with or without an assisted booking fees) as "Their systems are down as well" ... "we are unable get get any pricing".

Well after trying for hours and posting here after seeing v8Statesman's ; I gave it one last go and ... Voila!

I have recorded the PNR just in case ...

Had no probs this arvo here. Can book that certain QF175 flight ($86 oz_mark) and booked a TSV flight about an hour ago.

what online booking engine are we talking about here ?

just the refference to SG$ and the refference to a fair at "arround AUD$" has me intrigued.

thanks

Had the same error message all afternoon too. Called the number on my card to book (MEL-CBR) next monday morning and the guy said he couldn't take payment now, but if i booked it i would still be liable for the extra fee for phone booking. He said "don't worry, theres heaps of availability on that flight, try again in a few hours" (a/c was 767) (this was at 4pm ,fare was $117). Tried again at 7pm, fare is now $368. rang same number and explained the circumstances hoping they would see sense but the operator said "i'll see what i can do" and returned five mins later with "sorry theres nothing we can do to change that price".

Should I:
a) hope their system is on the blink tomorrow and try again,
b) ring back tomorrow and try my luck again,
c) ? try virgin again and be delayed for the umpteenth time?

I really think that the service has been pretty ordinary and in effect if i keep my original plans, i will be penalised $251 because their site stuffed up when i wanted to book my flight. Have I got any hope of changing the situation?
