So I'm flying business from Sydney to LA on 9th May on my favourite A380 - but looking at the online seat selection on the Qantas website there's like 4 seats to select from? Everything else is greyed out.

I'm now a Platinum frequent flyer so what gives? Do Platinum members get an advantage when pre-selecting seats? All I could get was 19E (tend to like the middle row as that way I don't have people climbing over me).

Oh well. I've got an early domestic flight to Sydney so looking forward to playing up in the 1st class lounge for the first time :p

impartiality,

From what you have posted I assume you are on QF11.

Expert Flyer shows that only 24E & F, 25 E & J as available so what you are seeing sounds to be correct.

You can only choose what is actually vacant.
