Onward flight lounge access?

Have an MH flight in J landing in LHR.

Then, an onward BA flight, UK Domestic.

These are on separate PNRs.

Anybody know if I would have lounge access at LHR due to arriving in J, even though BA ticket doesn't provide it?

There is an MH Golden Lounge at LHR. The MH lounges at KUL allow access on arrival.
However I don't think that's possible at LHR because of the physical layout of the terminals.
But I note the following on the Oneworld lounge access page for LHR:

Connecting between oneworld marketed and operated flights:

• First and Business Class customers connecting on the same day of travel, or before 6am the following day, can access the lounge when travelling between an international long haul (a oneworld international long haul flight is defined as an international flight marketed and operated by any oneworld carrier with a scheduled flight time longer than 5 hours) and an international short haul or domestic flight (and vice-versa).
• Lounge access will be determined on the international long haul ticketed flight (either First of Business Class) regardless of the ticketed class of travel on the international short haul or domestic flight.
• You must be prepared to show your boarding pass or itinerary showing travel in First or Business class on the international long haul flight, in order to access the lounge before your international short haul or domestic flight.

So it looks like you will be able to access an appropriate BA lounge before your UK domestic flight by showing your international boarding pass.

Yes - under oneworld connection rules, lounge access is provided at connecting points from long haul flights to short-haul. Class of service for the long-haul determines which lounge you can use.

Correct. The OP's biggest problem will likely be getting BA staff to follow those rules.
Numerous examples on FT of them not allowing Lounge Access when connecting from Long Haul premium to UK domestic.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Perhaps a pre-emptive strike would help if the OP emailed BA and got a reply confirming that lounge access is allowed, and then bring that correspondence with them.

TBH I'm not sure that's necessary.

There doesn't seem to be much issue, as far as I can find, with the rules regarding long-haul->short-haul at LHR.

The problems generally seem to be centred around club europe (short-haul) connecting to UK domestic (economy), where BA supposedly has an exception allowing access under those circumstances, but lounge staff (and phone staff) aren't always aware of it.

While I accept PF's concerns... I can't seem to find specifics where access has been deined.

Want to know how the baggage works in the aforementioned scenario. e.g. on the international J sector my baggage allowance is higher than on the domestic Y sector. Do I still need to adhere to the separate baggage weight limits, or does the international allowance supersede the domestic allowance?

From the BA website:

If your journey includes flights in more than one class, the more generous allowance will apply to your whole journey (unless the flights are on separate bookings then each class's allowance will apply to the individual flight). For example:

• You fly from Manchester to London in UK Domestic and connect from London to Rome in Club Europe. The Club Europe allowance applies to your entire journey.
• You fly from London to Dubai in World Traveller and return in World Traveller Plus. The World Traveller Plus allowance applies to your entire journey.
