The fourth Gold Coast Drinks night is on in February, with a Sunday chosen to take advantage of cheaper food ($1 oysters if that's your thing) and avoid the crowds. I hope to see more new members turning up. What you'll find are a great bunch of people ready to talk travel and share some tips you might not have read online... for good reason! ;)

The venue is the same as last time, the bar is called 'Aloha Bar & Dining' in Broadbeach. It is located at 18 Main Place, Broadbeach. A small one-way lane parallel to the Gold Coast Highway. If driving, you can park for 3 hours free of charge at the Oasis shopping centre, before walking down to the bar, otherwise there is a parking lot underneath the Phoenician Resort (off Main Place) with parking available for $5. Conveniently, this car parks entrance is directly opposite the bar.

If coming via public transport, Uber will drop you off right outside or there's a tram stop in the centre of the highway, almost opposite the location on the other side.

What you're looking for is a graffitied building with a (big) fridge out the front of it and cars parked down the side of it. You walk between the cars to the back of the building, where the entrance is hidden behind some palms. You'll know you're in the right place because there will be golden palms spray painted onto the sidewalk, like a trail of breadcrumbs.

Same as last time, I will be getting there from 6, as happy hour runs from 6 - 8.

I will definitely try to attend this, so add me as maybe but looking good.

Could be fun ... I'll be in SIN preparing to head home. ...

Enjoy!

Unfortunately I can't make it, but please tell jetlagger that I say hello.

I must be seeing things. Has the date changed?

I would love to come along to one of these nights but escorting wife and daughter back to Thailand the day before.

Any other day Friday or Saturday would work out perfectly this week. I'll try to change some existing plans this Sunday but not too optimistic at this stage.

Wish I could but have to work Monday

Sorry to hear. Ultimately the Sunday was chosen because the venue will have less patronage and therefore it'll be easier to have discussions/get orders out. Friday and Saturday would simply be too busy I feel, and live music on those days could also be a problem... the last time we asked them to turn it down they did not :p

That's a shame.

We had previously met on a Wednesday night, but I'm told by the regulars that it was proving to be a difficult night.

Unfortunately I can't make it, but please tell jetlagger that I say hello.

I'm sure he knows! ;)

When did they start running trams in Broadbeach?

I hope you have a great night.

ALH & RLH are Platinum. Giving Hilton SP another chance. We will catch public transport so I can have a few (more) drinks. Will have a few drinks in the Hilton Lounge before heading off

Available for guesting into Exec Lounge. In return, I can assist with PT logistics.

Make sure you get a room facing CK as there could be some noise on Saturday night from the nightclubs on the other side!

That Hilton SP better not muck it up.

I don't have high hopes of that, but I hope it's not quite as bad as previously!

Will you be joining us Bundy Bear?
