4 adult family members looking at booking overseas tickets through velocity. However, we don't have enough points. What is your opinion on transferring a big bunch of Amex points to Velocity points? Is it too risky? ie. if there aren't enough velocity tickets available for the dates we want to travel and then all these points will be sitting in the account & might expire before the next trip?

We're interested to hear your thoughts on this matter.
Thanks :)

Have you got dates in mind?

I would not want to strand any points in any FF program either. Before transferring any Amex points check if there is award availability first. A simple call to Velocity should be have your question answered. You may even be able to put the awards on hold while the points are tranferred.

I believe the credit card points should not take more than a day or 2 to hit the Velocity account.
