Overlapping Bookings?

Hi, in attempting to create a second back up booking via an alternative route from Melbourne to Frankfurt, the system can’t complete the booking (error message) as I suspect that it recognises that I am already flying into Frankfurt on the same day on an existing booking.

I have come across this once before and at the time the call centre were able to complete the booking for me but I was advised that there was risk down the track that the system will recognise the overlapping bookings and auto cancel both.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Never had an issue booking online an overlapping trip, so far. I would do that when I found a better reward flight, and wanted to avoid doing it over the phone. Once I forgot to cancel the old flight, and indeed Qantas called me a few weeks later to ask me which one to keep.

It felt weird to receive a call from Qantas. I wish I could put them on hold with my phone. Surely there is an Android app. Let me check...
