Oxymorons of Australian travel....

Rhetoric. a figure of speech by which a locution produces an incongruous, seemingly self-contradictory effect, as in “cruel kindness” or “to make haste slowly.”

  1. Virginblue Service
  2. Qantas ontime departure
  3. Airline food
  4. Nice airports
Im sure there's more!

Some of these are a bit of a stretch on the strict form of an oxymoron...

  1. Free baggage allowance
  2. Airline security
  3. Light refreshment
  4. Low-fat meal
  5. Final call (now that's a complex one!)
  6. (more common, bit less "oxymoronic") First and Final Call
  7. Sterile Area
  8. Electronic Ticketing
  9. Priority Baggage
  10. Quick Check

What about:

Premium Economy

I was gonna put this one down. Isn't it funny that "Premium Economy" is what regular economy used to be. I guess that they didn't want to end up with "Economy" and "Discount Economy".
