P51 Sydney to London (record attempt?) 1963/64?

While visiting dear ol' Mum for Christmas we sat down and watched a couple of DVD's produced from my late fathers old 8mm films...

(we have probably a hundred or so that are slowly being put on DVD)

One of them was shot (almost certainly) at Bankstown airport (probably 1963 or 64).. and shows a largely red P-51 with "SYDNEY TO LONDON" emblazoned on the fuselage...

It taxis around then makes a short flight....

Anyone know what that was about or how it went? (If it went at all?) :confused:
