Anyone know if DJ offers any special meals? if I'm buying a ticket that's including a meal. I'm flying OOL-AKL, in late November so its unlikely The Lounge will be ready by then.

Really not keen on buying a ticket that includes the PIE if its the only meal option

If buying a Flexi fare, then you'll get the "set meal". Depends on time of day, but likely to be a wrap of some description, and a few other nibbles. Choice of wine, or beer.

If buying a PE fare, then you get to choose what you want off the menu.

Tea/Coffee and water are complimentary. Food prices/menu is the same as Australian domestic, but charged in $NZ not $A - so ~26% less.

I would be traveling on the Flexi (The Works), as high as I can book as would be booking though NZ.

Does the Flexi Fare meal not have any VG/GF Free options that can be requested before hand?

DJ does not have an option at this stage to request meals with certain dietary requirements.
if that is the case, i would suggest BYO or have a meal prior to flying.

if on a flexi fare, it is a set meal tray, for break, lunch and dinner.
After 4pm it isnt a "meal" anyway, last I saw it was a snack tray with cheese/trail mix nibbles, with beer and wine.
It looks to me like the flexi fare food isn't offered as a substitution for a proper meal, but more like a topup of a meal you may have had or are going to have later.
there is always the oppurtunity to purchase food & bev off the food carts

And this is the core issue with "Flexi" meals. No customisation available - except for your choice of drink. And the "dinner" mystery box is also an oddity.

The best thing about Tran-Tasman services (as I commented above), is that they are priced in $NZ. So overall the BOB food is actually quite cheap. Eg, a pie is $A6.20+CC fee, the New Yorker Sandwich - $A7 etc etc etc.

Some times it makes me wonder if this Tasman Alliance was really an upgrade of service to passengers.

They have changed our evening BNE/OOL-AKL services from NZ to DJ, yet DJ is not matching the level of service we used to receive.

I think will probably best to get dinner before I get to the airport, would 60minutes before departure work for check-in at OOL?

no credit card fees are added to onboard purchases on DJ by DJ.
*your bank/card issuer may charge currency conversion fees

Tell your crew that you need the vego/GF alternative. They should be able to look after you.
