Just curious, do BA allow you to do this?

I'm currently in SIN, and due to a miscommunication with the kitchen staff in the lounge (at least I hope that's all it was), I just ate something I was violently allergic to. And I'm about to face a 13+ hour flight to LHR. As the consulting job I'm travelling for only paid for economy flights, I'd like to upgrade to business for some comfort due to how ill I am feeling. I'm a QF WP, but hold no status with BA beyond being the equivalent of OW Emerald. So I figure my only option would be to pay for the upgrade.

Is it even worth asking? If so, anybody know what sort of cost would be involved?

Thanks in advance.

Never mind. Flight is full. Moot point.

Good luck! I have a friend with very strong food allergies, so I 've seen what he goes through if there is an undeclared ingredient. My thoughts are with you.

The frustrating thing is that I specifically asked about whether the food contained the allergen because I know I have such a bad reaction to it, and the kitchen staff in the lounge said it was fine...
