I took the gentleman for a quick weekend away to Palazzo Versace (and to get my WP status). The last time I was in Surfers Paradise was about 25 years ago so I had no idea of where to stay or what to do. So I booked 3 nights at Palazzo Versace as one of my friends had stayed there last year and really enjoyed it.

We had a nice time. We had a Lagoon room, it was nice and spacious with lots of Versace bling. The only criticism would be the rooms aren't completely sound proofed so you can hear a bit of noise from the corridor. Room service was inconsistent - one night great and the other average. Due to poor organising on our part, we ended up at the hotel buffet for dinner one night. Probably quite good if you like buffets but not so much my thing. Breakfast was included in our package and was very good quality. It is expensive, around $45 per person so you want to eat your fill!

The marina is next door - there are lots of shops and restaurants so you could probably get most of your meals over there for a little cheaper (but not much!)

All in all , we had a nice time, the staff were good and the room was nice for a few days of lazing about.

We stay here every year - due to an annual tax conference that SWMBO attends.

Not a favourite hotel however, its location next to some lovely restaurants in Marina Mirage makes it all happy:cool:

Omeros - agree with Geoffm for seafood
Glass - went Friday night & thoroughly enjoyed it.....shared Tapas for entree, followed by Grilled NZ Sole with Vongole.....followed by Sticky date pudding:D
Ace Wasabi - good for lunch
Fellini - a bit hit & miss.......seems to have dropped the ball. On a good night very good italian.
