I've just spent two hours and three phone calls trying to book a one way flight from Singapore to Melbourne via Brisbane on EY and VA. On the last phone call we got to the point of booking the flight and taking credit card details, when I was put on hold and 5 minutes later told the Business rewards seats were now not available. After an additional 40 minutes of "Do you mind still holding" every 5 minutes, it became clear that there were no SQ flights available either. Now, all credit the contact centre rep, who is now going to call me every week after she checks to see if there are any flights available around my dates, as it's Jan next year, but your systems appear to be severely lacking.

My question to Velocity is when are you going to have your partner airlines reward availability on the Velocity website? I know you've added some European flights with EY, but what about their flight from Brisbane to Singapore? And when are you going to add SQ flights? The fact that you have to call just to check, and then get told something different every phone call, is just not good enough.

Hi there,
Reward Seats on SQ will only be available through our MCC for the time being due to technical restrictions.
Our Members can book VA codeshare services operated by Virgin America and Etihad online.
BNE-SIN should be online (as an EY operated service), so we've got the team is now looking into why this isn’t the case.

I haven't done the comparison, but does anyone know if there any correlation between SQ availability to VA for redemption and what they make available to star alliance partners? If so, this would be one way of speeding up the process of checking, as you can look at UA website for availability. I know if wanting to redeem Virgin Atlantic miles on SQ there is not a great degree of correlation, I usually find Krisflyer availability > star alliance program availability >> VS Flying club availability. I wondered where Velocity fits on this scale?

Am seriously thinking of giving up my QF Plat Amex and moving over to velcoty and krisflyer as my main points earn.

So far I'e only used velocity points to book flights directly on VA metal. How do people find award seat availability on their partner airlines?

I'd hoped by now they'd have gotten this a bit easier in terms of booking.
