My partner lives in Asia, I believe the QFF rules used to state that for your partner to receive the partner gold card they needed to live at the same address, does anyone know if this rule still applies?
I had lots of time to kill in the lounge today and reading through the terms and conditions this restriction does not seem to apply now.

20.3 Partner Gold
20.3.1 Partner Gold may be awarded to an eligible Partner when a Platinum Member first reaches 2,100 Status Credits within a single Membership Year. Each Member may have only one nominated Partner at any one time. Retention of Partner Gold will require the Platinum Member to accrue another 2,100 Status Credits in each subsequent Membership Year. The Partner Gold Membership Year will be aligned with that of the primary Platinum Member.
20.3.2 Partner Gold Membership will not be offered to any Partner who already holds Gold or Platinum status level in Qantas Frequent Flyer. An alternative person cannot be nominated.
20.3.3 If the primary Platinum Member fails to accrue sufficient Status Credits in subsequent Membership Years, the Partner Gold Member will be subject to normal Gold status level qualifying criteria.
20.3.4 If the Partner Gold Member ceases to be the Partner of the primary Platinum Member, the Platinum Member must ensure that the Partner Gold card is surrendered before a replacement card will be issued for any new Partner.

Am I missing something?

Why not just put your partner at your address then post the card once delivered?

Mr!

 :?: :!:

That is what I would suggest. You can create a home address, a work address and another address, then choose from them which to ship to. Just make sure you both share the same home address.

It still does in the T&C's. 'Partner' is a defined term by Qantas with the definition: "'Partner' means a Member's spouse or domestic partner who resides at the same address as the Member;"

That said, I know of many people who do interesting things with their Partner Gold memberships, and I don't know of any who have had weird questions. As others have posted - keep the same residential address, and perhaps change postal address or just have all mail going to your address at home. If questioned, you could always claim that the overseas address is a temporary arrangement and that their permanent home address is yours.
