Partner Platinum and Parental Leave Pause

Hi all, I'm seeking some advice. First some facts:
• I'm Velocity Platinum, review date 26 September 2013
• My wife is Velocity Gold in her own right, review date 6 June 2014
• I haven't nominated a Partner Gold recipient
• As of today, I've earned 1805 SC in current membership year
• My wife is due to give birth on 18 October
• I propose to nominate my wife to get my Partner Platinum

So, my question is ... in order to maximise the length of platinum status for her and for me, when should I:
a) Nominate her for Partner Platinum;
b) Request Parental Leave Pause for her; and
c) Request Parental Leave Pause for me?

Any thoughts greatly appreciated!

According to the T's & C's:

21.3.4 A Platinum Member may nominate a Companion Gold Membership and a Companion Platinum Membership by calling the Velocity Frequent Flyer Membership Contact Centre at any time up until 12 months after the date the Platinum Member becomes entitled to redeem a Companion Gold Membership.

So, the magic date will be the date that you earned your 1300th status credit (800 to maintain plus 500 to nominate)

Assuming you qualified for this entitlement on 1 August 2013 you have until 1 August 2014 to make your nomination
Your wife will become platinum on 1 August 2014 until 1 August 2015
On 1 August 2015 you apply for parental pause (as this can be done until the childs 2nd birthday) until 1 February 2016
On 1 February the member ship will be renewed until 1 February 2017

With regard to your own pause, that depends on the likelihood of you continuing to maintain platinum in your own right.

If you can continue to maintain then the latest date for a pause will be the childs 2nd birthday (assume 18 October 2016) which will extend your entitlement to 18 April 2018

If you don't fly enough to maintain then the date to pause would be 26 September 14 (the date your platinum will expire) which will extend your entitlement to 26 March 2016
