Hi All,

I have recently burned a bunch of QFF points to book in to go back to the uk in December, assuming the world is travelling again. I usually like to fly emirates as they are convenient for flying close to my home town in the uk.

Looking to book the return leg in early Jan but doesnt appear that EK is offering any availibiilty into Aus. They have plenty going from EU to DXB and DXB to SIN etc just nothing into AUS.

Wondering what peoples preferred hubs to head into AUS from if they dont use DXB / EK.

Cheers

The issue with points seats is if there are arrivals caps still in place airlines are going to want to take passengers paying cash rather than classic award seats. That could be at least part of the reason for not seeing availability for DXB to Australia.

I'd like to book a trip sometime but there's too much uncertainty at the moment for my liking.

JQ (under its flight number 3K), has some flights from SIN to DRW, basic non bundled fares for SGD$292.
One way, that is not too bad.
Only on some days of the week.
10.40pm from SIN, arr DRW 04.50am, you should be able to clear incoming immi and be able to make a dom flight out of DRW by 7.30am/8am, even probably earlier.

If looking to burn points with OW you could also try BA (via SIN), CX (via HKG), JL (via NRT/HND) and QR (via DOH) .

If I was coming home from Europe it would be from the UK as I have family there. As I have a lot of OW and Star points I would be returning on SQ via SIN or JL/ANA via NRT/HND.

Cheers, QFF is all i have but have a fair few to burn through. will throw a few hypotheticals in have seen some through SIN mostly Cathay but they dont seem to get the best reviews for the spend?

You can also use QF points on JL.QFf gets acess when JL releases it's availability so usually not a problem finding awards.A longer distance via Tokyo but usually a better product.

I think choice of airline is highly subjective. I rate CX above QF. Others don't. The EK A380 might be great in business class, but if they swap that out to a 777 it won't be so much fun.
