VA 556 (Wed 23 Oct) was full when five pax were offloaded due weight. They managed to do it without any shouting but how does this happen? Math says the flight was 500kg over weight - surely that is predictable? Especially given the shorter flight time (3.5 hours) due tailwind. It's a bad look. Anyone know what incentives and what choices were made here? They didn't call for volunteers, just targeted five. How?

Those five could have been standby or staff travellers, or simply the last five to check in.

If they went without a fuss they’d be staff/standby…
